Acupuncture

Veterinary Acupuncture is known as alternative medicine to the traditional western medicine we are familiar with today. It is usually chosen as a treatment method when natural healing without drugs or surgery is perferred or when traditional western medicine has failed.

Acupuncture therapy encourages natural healing, improved function of the
effected area, a reduction in pain, and improved energy and mood.
Acupuncture dates back to 200 BCE when the chinese medicine men of their day mapped out points along meridians (channels) running throughout the body carrying an energy called "Qi". The Qi regulates the normal bodily
functions. The placing of needles along specific points corrects imbalances of this energy flow. Thus bringing the body back into balance and allowing it to heal naturally without the use of drugs or surgery.
Electropuncture is just a modified version of acupuncture. The sterile needles are stimulated by various voltages and frequencies of electricity. The pain blocking effect is cumulative and the patient can be pain-free for days between treatments.
Moxibustion is another method of increasing the efficacy of acupuncture. It is
a technique where in you heat the needle with a plant called Mugwort
(Artemisia vulgaris) to facilitate moving of the energy flow.
